Yet another merry Moto X

Moto X time again! And what a hot day it was too. Hot enough to take off the old RC sweatshirt and roam around in the t-shirt instead, therefore exposing my arms to the sunlight and getting...sun burnt. My nose got sun burnt too, so I've earned the new nickname of Rudolph at the moment.
However the warm weather meant no rain, so for once it wasn't wet or cold at Woodside. Instead the blue skies put everyone in good spirits, and even the casualties remained few and far between. I think there was about four or five at the end of it; nothing too major, apart from one lad who had torn a tendon in his foot, and another with a rather nasty graze. There were three grazes actually. Oh, and one guy who'd stabbed himself in the thigh whilst mucking around with a pen knife, which thankfully didn't turn out to be too bad.
The sunshine also meant I could nick a pair of shades from a fellow first aider and strut around in them too; I personally think it added to the whole RC uniform and Hi Vis image, hehe.
I think the temporary baseball cap addition was a bit to far though.

Acting Exam!

The title says it all. I had my Higher drama acting exam today, and not only was it ever so slightly nerve racking, it was also a bloody good day.
The examiner, who brilliantly resembled Billy Connolly, was so, so nice. He made us feel so at ease and told us exactly how things were going to run, so everything was clear and settled before we started. It was clear he enjoyed his visit, and our shows; he made a point of saying so afterwards.
So it was a brill day, and the camaraderie between the class rocketed, along with our acting pieces. Looks like a bit of pressure can actually do the world of good when it comes to performing in an exam.
And afterwards, just to complete the day, the whole higher class (plus one Int 2 - she knows who she is, lol) went to Scribbles with the teachers to have a celebratory meal, which was well earned by one and all, lol.
Today ended up being a brill day, and thoroughly enjoyable too. It's a bit sad that it's all over now; all that hard work, just for one exam which was over in the space of 3 hours. It was worth
it though.
So well done my higher drama class, we definitely deserved those pizzas after such a great day!

I've done too much, now I'm paying for it...

Well, I'm off school today, for the simple fact that I'm worn out after ten nights of very late bed times (ranging from midnight to 2.30am), and more days doing fun-packed things, like learning to drive (and nearly killing myself and my boyfriend in the process), running mad on beaches, falling out with emotionally-strung family members, and doing various other activities, which after a while take their toll on you when you're not having long enough rests in between. Now, because I'm so run down, I'm washed out beyond belief. It's taking all of my will power to sit upright in front of my laptop and write this.
What really clinched it though - the cherry on the cake kinda thing - was this past weekend. It was RC Emergency Response training, which although was awesome fun, albeit at times cold, was kinda taxing, and eventually drained the last of my energy. When I got home on Sunday, I had the beginnings of a nasty cold, which erupted yesterday into full blown penicillin-requiring tonsillitis.
So now here I sit, bored out of my mind, worried that I won't be fit enough for my two drama acting NABs on Thursday and Friday, gutted that I'm missing RC training tonight, and pondering whether I should go back to bed or not.
I'd write about the ER weekend in more detail, but to be honest I can't be totally arsed to do so at the moment, so that can wait for another time...if I remember.

And about the whole "let's attempt to kill me and my boyfriend whilst driving" thing, I saved us too, so it's a nice balanced situation ^-^

Neigh...

Went to see "Equus" the other day at His Majesty's Theatre in bonnie Aberdeen.
It was actually really good, and really cleverly done; the set and light effects were really simple, but effective, and the acting was pretty awesome, especially the dancers who played the horses. Yeah, that sounds kinda random, but their movement kinda suspended your disbelief. You actually saw them as horses (I suppose the great big metal horse masks helped too).
But yeah, I'd say it's a show that's really worth seeing, and I recommend it to anyone who likes watching a good entertaining play every now and then.

See, that's the thing; when you take higher drama, you can't help but ever so slightly analyse the plays you go and see...

Jinxed...

Well, the first half of the afternoon today was spent climbing up a hill. Ok, maybe a bit bigger than a hill, more like a small mountain. Either way, it was spent walking on an incline.
The hill/mountain in question was Ben Rinnes, which supposedly has a spectacular view from its peak and borders six counties, which I think are Moray, Inverness-shire, Aberdeenshire, Caithness, and...other ones...
Anyway, it was quite a good hike at first, albeit a bit nippy. There was snow too, quite a lot of it, which ended up being quite deep in places as we found out (we being me and family peeps).
However the weather soon turned pretty rough, and wet, making conditions difficult and a bit dangerous - personally I've faced worse on Duke of Edinburgh expeds, but there you go. So we retreated back down the way we came to the warmth of the car. Therefore our climb was cut short - bummer - and we got a bit wet.
I swear I'm jinxed though. On every DoE exped the weather was wet, very wet. Now, when I try and go for a casual hike up a mountainside, the weather is still dull, and the rain still pours, and the wind still blows. One day I'll get a nice dry walk with sunshine and a 'spectacular view' from the top of whichever mountain it is I'm climbing.
